Build a rail empire from a single track to a continent-spanning logistics network. A real-time economic strategy game — play solo, or head to head and co-op with friends.
Trains & Things is done. Version 1.0 rebuilt it on Godot 4, with a reworked track builder, faster terrain and an interface that scales properly to your monitor. What you get is the whole game, not a roadmap.
Start with one track and finish with a continent. Trains & Things is a real-time economic strategy game about building a logistics company out of nothing, one profitable route at a time. No turns, no waiting — time is money, so every second is one your competition isn't using.
Build railways that go exactly where you meant them to. Laying track in most games is a fight; here it's the best part — quick, intuitive, and it won't offend your sense of order.
Meet supply and demand across a whole map of goods. Read what each town and industry wants, get there first, and diversify — putting everything into one commodity is how empires fall.
Run the company, not just the trains. Take a loan to fund the next expansion and try not to sink under the repayments before the routes start paying for themselves.
Custom maps take your company to Hawaii, Australia, Europe — the rest of the world, and maybe even Mars. It comes down to the creativity of the community.
Mod support is what keeps a game alive. Games without it get played once; games with it keep finding new things to be, and give the budding developers in the community somewhere to sharpen their craft.
Bring friends if you want them. Everything above plays solo. When you'd rather not be alone, the whole game also runs head to head or co-operatively over the internet or a LAN, cross-platform between Windows, macOS and Linux.
Simple and easy track building makes laying down tracks a pleasure. If you've ever played other games that require you to lay down tracks and roads you will know how frustrating this can be. We have taken the time to implement a system that is quick, easy and intuitive and a system that does not offend your OCD.
Cross platform multiplayer between Windows, macOS and Linux works out of the box, because your OS shouldn't be a barrier to playing. Native builds on all three, and they all play together in the same game.
Strategic zoom is a feature of some of the best RTS games which has been thrown out in this modern era of console gaming. You will not have to grind your face along the ground. We let you take in the whole world and see it through the eyes of astronauts! This means your UI isn't cluttered with unnecessary mini maps.
After something faster? Dog Fight is our couch party game — up to 8 players, one screen, frantic air combat.
